The Brasher Family – Milestone Session

As a Birmingham Family Photographer, I have the honor of getting to meet some of the most wonderful families. It truly is so special to develop relationships with families and capture all of their special family milestones. As both a newborn and family photographer in Birmingham, AL, I have the privilege of photographing moms-to-be, newborns, children, and families. I love getting to watch your babies grow and help you remember all of their very special milestones and personalities!

I met the Brasher family at Baby Elle’s newborn session in January 2021. It’s hard to believe she just celebrated her 1st birthday, and sweet big brother Ford just celebrated his 4th birthday! How fun it was to celebrate with these clients-turned-friends! Meeting and making new friends really is one of my favorite parts of being a family photographer.

The Brasher Family – Indoor Greenhouse Session

When Elizabeth reached out about scheduling their session, she knew we’d likely need to do the session indoors with it being January. Even though we have mild winters in Birmingham, it’s so important that everyone is comfortable during the session. Having taken Elle’s newborn photos in the Brasher’s home just a year before, the family was seeking a different location for their children’s 1st and 4th milestone photo sessions.

Birmingham, AL has several beautiful indoor locations for cold days. However, we ultimately settled on the greenhouse at Birmingham Botanical Gardens. I am so glad we did! The greenhouse is absolutely beautiful, the lighting is perfect, and it was a comfortable 70-something degrees inside! Plus, on the way back to our cars, we were able to snap a couple of outdoor photographs as well!

I loved how fun and playful this family photography session was! January and February are such a magical time for family photos! The stress of the holiday season is over, and the stress to get the “perfect” holiday card photo is gone. You can simply enjoy those who are most important to you!
